How to Buy Kigurumi Masks and Hadatai on Taobao

Taobao is a Chinese marketplace. Some Kigurumi Mask makers, Hadatai makers, costume sellers, and materials suppliers sell there.

Many buyers outside China use a proxy agent. The agent purchases the item, receives it in China, and ships it onward.

Some regions can check out in the Taobao app and use Taobao's own warehouse, although not every storefront supports this.
Hadatai or other outfits are a safe bet for this, more fragile items like Kigurumi masks are probably better off using an actual proxy shipper who can make sure it's well packaged and insured for international shipping.

Agree on the commission with the maker before you pay an agent. These steps explain forwarding. They do not replace that maker's own order instructions. Read on for the step-by-step workflow.

How a Taobao agent works

  1. Submit the Taobao item link, options, quantity, and any message for the seller. Need a measurement form? Ask the seller for it.
  2. Pay the item price, domestic Chinese shipping, and the agent's purchasing fees.
  3. The seller sends the order to the agent's warehouse.
  4. The proxy will typically send you photos upon arrival and if there are any obvious issues, raise them to you.
  5. Choose international packing, shipping, insurance, and customs declaration options. Most have a tool to help you choose what makes sense based off priority, weight, value and other factors.
  6. Pay the international shipping charge and any remaining fees.
  7. Wait for the item to arrive.

Choosing and using an agent

Examples that have offered Taobao purchasing include Superbuy and Sugargoo. Their inclusion is not an endorsement just an example, there are numerous taobao proxy services around but none too specific to kigurumi.
